Gozo vs Pembroke Athleta - Score 6-0

Our third Match of the season was against first placed Gozo.  Within  4 minutes from kick off the score was already 1-0 for Gozo, this was due to a very quick counter-attack bravely finished by Sarah Sultana. In the 9th minute Gozo managed to make the score 2-0 this was the subsequent of another counter-attack and this showed very clearly that this match was gonna be based on a counter-attack scheme.

In the 14th minute our Goalkeeper Ruth Debono managed to keep us in the game with a very fine save. Just 4 minutes later in the 18th minute Gozo managed to get the third goal when once again Sarah Sultana managed to get the ball, dribble and beat pembroke`s goalkeeper for her 2nd personal goal of the match and make the result 3-0 for Gozo.
In the 21st minute Gozo`s  Emma Xuereb saw her shot going over the bar  & in the 29 minute minute Sarah Sultana saw her shot go past right post after some good closing down by our goalkeeper.
           
In the 36th minute Gozo scored their 4th and last goal of an enthralling first half.

Just 2 minutes into the second half, Gozo were awarded a dubious penalty which was struck well into the bottom right hand corner to make the score 5-0.

In the 81st minute With Another counter attack move Gozo scored their 6th and final goal of the match.

The following Substitutions were done: 37th minute Marika was replaced Kaylee, 64th minute Stephanie was replaced by Naomi, 77th minute Melanie was replaced by Emma & in the 80th minute Ruth was replaced by Simone.
