The match between Pembroke and Tarxien started off with a minute of silence in honor of Coach Mr. Mario Borg.

The first 5 minutes of the match passed without offering any interesting action from either side.

In the 6th minute of the match we had the first real action of the match and this had a Pembroke mark when left full back Dorita Agius pushed a personal action right down on the left flank, approached midfield and passed the ball towards her colleague Janelle Galea, Janelle continued the run towards the Tarxien penalty area passed the ball in the middle but Amber Grech was late on the ball and couldn`t finish as the ball was well cleared by the Tarxien`s defense.

In the 18th minute Pembroke took the lead after a well taken corner by Shana Debono. The Cross landed perfectly for our striker LeeAnne Wood, who controlled the ball and placed the shot into the back of the Tarxien net to make the score 1-0.

Approaching the 35th minute Pembroke increased their score when Lilian Cremona was fouled by Tarxien`s goalkeeper and a penalty was ordered by the referee. Central defender Shana Debono took charge of the penalty and scored to make the score 2-0 Pembroke. The first half came to a close with the score reading Pembroke 2 Tarxien 0.

In the first minute of the second half, Pembroke`s Striker LeeAnne Wood Found herself face to face with Tarxien`s goalkeeper but struck wide of the goal.

In the 60th minute we had the first yellow card of the match and the second of the season, when Naomi Borg retaliated to a Tarxien foul by defender Ritienne Micallef.

In the 55th minute Tarxien reduced the gap when Nadia Zammit scored after a personal run from half pitch defended by Pembroke.

In the 64th minute Pembroke were awarded a direct freekick, which was taken by Shana Debono. The shot however went wide of the mark, which resulted in a Goal kick.

In the 76th Minute youngster Amber Grech tried her luck with a very well struck shot but her shot hit the bar, then from the rebound Lilian Cremona saw her shot ending high just over the bar.

In the 87th minute after a personal run and dribble once again youngster Amber Grech delivered a good shot Tarxien`s goalkeeper gave the impression of doing a very easy safe but couldn`t handle the ball well, the ball finished again in Amber`s feet who`s shot finished wide very close to the left post.
