The 11th fixture of the MFA Women Football 2nd division league offers the match between Hamrun S. & Pembroke Athleta.

After just 3 minutes Pembroke manage to take the lead after a corner taken by central defender Shana Debono was deflected in the net by a Hamrun defender for an own goal that put Pembroke 1-0 in front.

Then for the following ten minutes Pembroke reduced the forcing and tried controlling the match and preserving their energy.

In the 14th minute Hamrun had their first chance to level the score but number 10 Amanda Muscat shot wide when face to face to Pembroke`s goalkeeper Ruth Debono.

19th minute Pembroke increased the lead when attacker Leeanne Wood saw Hamrun`s goalkeeper outside the penalty area and from distance (almost half pitch) managed to deposit in the net with a well placed lob.

In the 21st minute Janelle Galea hit the post after a very good action.

Six minutes later this being the 27th minute Hamrun managed to pressure Pembroke`s defence but defender and skipper Dorianne Bonello managed to clear the ball out of danger

In the 29th minute an indirect free kick was ordered by the referee in Pembroke`s favor. Shana Debono took charge of this free kick, managed to deliver a very good cross in the middle of Hamrun`s penalty area but midfielder Brenda Cutajar  was just seconds late from meeting the well delivered cross so the ball ended over the line for a Hamrun goal kick. 

Six minutes before half time in the 39th minute Pembroke were awarded an indirect freekick, this after Hamrun`s goalkeeper collected the ball with her hands after a receiving a back pass. The freekick was taken by Shana Debono who passed to Leeanne Wood who depositing in the back of the net to make the score 3-0 so the first half ended Hamrun 0 Pembroke 3.

In the 55th minute Hamrun showed that they were still in the match with a good counter attack unluckily for them this counter attack did not finish with the result they were hoping to for as Dorianne bonello managed to close well and throw the ball safely into a coner.

7 minutes later when the 62nd minute struck, Pembroke made it 4-0 thanks to Lilian Cremona who placed the ball well after a personal run.

In the 67th minute we had the last goal of the night, once again Lilian Cremona placed well in the back of the net this time taking advantage of an indecision between Hamrun`s central defenders.

In the 70th minute Pembroke offered the last real action of the match when they were awarded another free kick this time a direct one.  Once again Shana Debono took charge of this direct free kick but her well taken shot ended out few inches far from Hamrun`s goal post.
